Melbourne has been named the world’s most livable city so many years. Melbourne has best healthcare, education and infrastructure. Melbourne is a mixed culture city. We could see this from people, culture, foods and architectures.

When I came to Melbourne in 2013. There are not many high and modern buildings in Melbourne CBD. When I stand under State Library, I feel like the architecture is very sacred. Redmond Barry is standing in front of the State Library and holding a book. It is such a old style building in Melbourne. I feel solemn when I pass through it.

There are lots of old building in RMIT also. The building close to that old building is RMIT building 80. It is a new design from students in RMIT. I was studied Architecture Design in 2016. I really like how the new building looks in RMIT, and also New Academic Street. The style of New Academic Street is Brutalism. It is an architectural style of the 1950s and 1960s characterized by simple, block-like forms and raw concrete construction. It looks more natural. I love the style of RMIT.

Now, more and more curtain wall building exciting in Melbourne. It is an outer covering of a building in which the outer walls are non-structural, utilized to keep the weather out and the occupants in. Since the curtain wall is non-structural, it can be made of lightweight materials, thereby reducing construction costs. When glass is used as the curtain wall, an advantage is that natural light can penetrate deeper within the building. There are tall building and apartment in Melbourne CBD. It makes our city modern and beautiful. mixed modern curtain wall building and old style building make people go through from past to the future. It also shows to the real world Melbourne is developing very fast.
