Week 3 Workshop Reflection – Haiku Exercise and Blog

This week’s workshop, we’ve talk about the Haiku exercise and the blog.

The Haiku exercise videos present in class is pretty cool. One is about raining, and the other one is about people. The videos are composed from simple videos we took in University, but with the haiku poem is meaningful.

And in the class, we look each other’s blog. My group member’s blog is pretty nice. One of my group member’s blog is all about the media stuff he read and created. It is real amazing to see a person who is really love media and good at it, and it encourage me do better in this subject. One of my group member is have a great passion on a TV play. Although i never seen this before, from his words i can feel her passion and love in this play. And it makes me want to see this TV play also.  It’s nice to share this happiness through the words. We point out each blog’s good and which part can improve more. I think it’s blog’s charm. And after this activity, i view more other students’ blog. It is really enjoyed.

Week 1 Workshop Reflection – What blog is ?

In week 1’s workshop, we’ve talked about what blog is? Blog is not like dairy, it should show to the public. And it is also very useful in our daily life. Although a lot of us may not use it before.

As a kind of most avant-garde stuff in modern information society, blog is appealing to an increasing number of people. To my mind, however, the matter should be observed dialectically due to its particularity and complexity. Blog undeniably wields numerous merits. It in the first place serves as an effective means of communication, through which blog users are able to vent their spleens and share their various feelings with each other.Secondly, blog proves to be a terrific platform.for learning.By updating one’s blog pages and browsing others’,one thus has instant access to a wide range of cyber materials and may keep him-/herself informed of the most current events and knowledge. While taking blog browsing and bruiting for granted,we should not overlook its downsides—a problem inevitably confronting nearly every issue of controversy.Inasmuch as blog is a public medium that denies nearly no admission, one’s privacy is hereby easily subject to potential infringements.A more severe problem than this is that the current blog pages on the web are rife with worthless or even detrimental things, say, fraudulent advertising, hype, personal attack, pornography and violence,or even reactionary propagation.
Weighing the above discussed,i believe that, despite the many shortcomings it possesses, blog basically turns out to be a favourable thing, and would be more so provided supervision from both the public and the government is imposed upon it and self-discipline within the blog users is strengthened.
