Japanese Manga

A form of creativity that very popular in Asian countries and is inescapable within Japanese culture: comics, or manga. The Japanese are fanatics about comics. They are everywhere in Japanese society, at every magazine stand, carried by a large proportion of commuters on Japan’s extraordinary system of public transportation.

For the Japanese, manga cover every aspect of social life. According to official data, in Japan, some 40 percent of publications are comics, and 30 percent of publication revenue derives from comics. An American author describes manga are ‘men in tights’ and give some reasons why that is an unattractive characteristic of American. Anyway, people from different culture distract themselves in different ways. There is the phenomenon of doujinshi.

Doujinshi are also comics, but they are a kind of copyright comic. It is not doujinshi if it is just a copy; the artist must add something new on the works he copies, by transforming it either subtly or significantly. A doujinshi comic can thus take a mainstream comic and develop it differently —— with a different storyline. These copycat comics are not a tiny part of the manga market. They are huge. The comic can keep the character in character list but change its look slightly.  These manga artists‘borrowed’ idea from the original comics, mixed their creativity, and retold them in a way with personally style that people recognize. But there is one problem that whether the culture is free. Regulation in copyright law became stricter as people become more private. Now, Public domain age is redefined, which leads artists’ creative ideas become restrained if there is less chance of culture bump.

Japanese manga not only popular in domestic but also attract worldwide teenagers eyes. Digi mon and pokey Mon are accompanied with my childhood. They are very popular in China. The Comic side industries also makes a lot of money, for example, computer games, key rings, and stickers.

people still love Japanese manga when they grew up with high loyalty.  Detective Conan has been published nearly 15 years. I love it when I was a primary student and until to now I still crazy about it.  However,  for Chinese comics , the target audience age is limited. The reason is may because Japanese manga is more relevant to issues happening  in our daily life,  like friendship and dream.
