Film/TV 1 – Analysis/Reflection 1

1.  In 200 words or less please outline your goals, desires – what you want to get out of this semester.

Through Film/TV 1, I want to learn more and get more experience in sound recording, camera operating and I am very interested in taking a First A.D. role. I’m still interested in video editing as when I was doing Broadcast Media but through this course I want to have more focus on sound technique and sound effects, etc.

2. Consider  Jasmine’s lecture on Screenwriting and briefly describe one point that you have taken from it. A point that excites you, something that was completely new to you, perplexes you or even one you take issue with.

I remember she said, screening writing is not writing a normal life but things that are not likely to happen in our lives. Not exactly these words though.

I think that screening writing share something in common with writing novels and fictions, which is these writings are beyond your life, but based on (or sourced from) your life. I also believe that a good piece of cinema art work is something that makes its audience reflect on their past, their present, remind them of what they have done or experienced. This piece is for audiences to watch again (and again) after sometime and they often have new thoughts and reflections. And I believe the content in this piece of art does not have too much dramatization but lots of things that we see and we do in our daily lives.
