Here to share the new discovery of my friend’s cat: he is able to feel the existence of camera and hates having his photo taken. To complete my friend’s photography assignment, she came up with the idea to take photo of me playing with her cat, and then we began this difficult task. First, we tried the most attractive toy — the feather teaser. I sat on the side of the couch, calling his name and kept shaking the teaser to attract his attention. His eyes were getting rounder, staring at the teaser. Then, he stood up to slowly approach to me. At this moment, my friend lifted the camera. But before she pressed the shutter, her cat had already walked to another direction. In the following fifteen minutes, the same situation appeared over and over. Once we tried to take photos, the cat just stayed in the void between the couch and the table and instantly looked away. To further verify this conjecture, we made an experiment with mobile phone. I sat next to the cat, pretending to play phone games but actually turned on the camera. He couldn’t figure it out immediately. However, if I held the phone up to his face, he would still run away. I can definitely tell that he knew what we were trying to do by watching his expression. He acted so awkwardly just like me being asked to pose in front of the camera. Unfortunately, both of us are not able to become supermodels.
