Haiku Reflection

I am a beginner of Premiere, and before starting to do this Haiku video, I went to Adobe website to watch lots of instruction. From these videos, I understood how to import materials, do the basic edit and use some simple effects.

First, I picked up a haiku poem from google because the text decided what kind of video and background music I needed. After confirming the content, I went to that folder to choose videos. I found three videos about insects and nature, adjusted the length and linked them together. I followed the instruction to put a few transition effect between these three videos.

However, in the class, Liam asked me why did you put these effects in. We found that strange to use dip into black because it would let people feel the two videos were seperate. Also, too many effects made the whole video looked tedious. I changed all the effects to the same one, which called dissolve. This is a very mild transition and the whole video is more fluent.

In all, it is important to think a lot before editing. I should build the rough structure, think about the transition between every cut and the length of a shot. I think I can do better in Project 2.
