Week 4, a workshop-like workshop, a quite usual one with an hour earlier lunch, that focusing on what we are working on, to learn writing blog posts and make an incredible (and creative?) self-portrait video.
At the very beginning, we had some small discussion on Cal Newport’s talk, however, as each of us were being pretty stressful on the blogs and video, although it’s just one of the piece of work in this degree, or even the workplace, everyone, including me, seems still stuck on how valuable it would be in our future… Being extremely focused that only gave slightly response on this week’s lecture.
After working on our task for a while, a random group discussion had been running again, giving review on classmates’ work, and talked about things we had until now. It seems an interesting way of discussion, meet with classmates that you haven’t even chat with, and not being trapped into getting suggestions by only our group mate. Nevertheless, the discussion was kept being awkward all the time as we even forget each other’s name, that this approach might not be that effective if we are being in a situation of pressure that rarely expressed our idea.
Fortunately, through this kind of discussion, usually we could have a peek at each other’s work and gain opinions from classmates with different cultural background, but I think it has to be always start by introducing ourselves, having something so called ‘ice-breaking’, being less awkward, end up with a nice learning experience.
By the way, even though there was an earlier lunch, I still couldn’t stop thinking of my self-portrait, there’s no way out for me keep modifying my work being a perfectionist that I’m not actually really want to, maybe I were born like this, otherwise?
