Supermarkets and Department Stores are being more important in our life, there are always close to us, no matter in the city, or out of the city, since its convenience, and always having attractive discounts. So, how did they use different kinds of Media to catch up the era of modernisation?
To begin with, let’s talk about the discount catalogues, as we known, it’s one of the print media for stores promotion, delivering discount information to our home within a fixed period of time, amazing!! Wasn’t it? Even in case of you don’t have a permanent address, you can just take one at one of the supermarket or store and start planning what you are going to purchase this week. I had also found an interesting fact that some branch would indeed post their discounts on a board in front of their store (a cultural shock for who just came to Melbourne I guess).
The other Media they had often used would be Online Shop, to adapt century of the Internet, supermarkets and stores have to figure out some methods to draw the younger’s attention, operating online stores seems the most popular one these days. It had become a trend toward most of the remarkable brands, and looks like they would lose something if they are not following it. However, I think people still tend to shop their daily needs in the traditional way, as it appeared that we would be feeling more comfortable while getting the solid item with volume and weight other than just imagining it on cyberspace. And the delivery time would also be a problem if we are buying some necessaries.
Perhaps practicing on apparel shops would be more effective rather than supermarket and department stores cause its not that urgently for us?
