I really enjoy this course.  Throughout this course, I got not only an experience about how to making a music video but also achieve good friendships.  I enjoyed working with my group members, Sherry,Zoe and Kenneth.  We came up with ideas together, shot together, edited together.  Also, when we met some problem, we fight them together.  I think this course make up grow up, in the aspect of some media ability, even enhance our confidence and make us have an ability of creative.  Last but not least, I want to thank for Rohan.  He is a really good tutor and always patient to teach us how to do step by step.

I think this music video’s backgroud is the a little same as our music video.  I like this kind of backgroud.  It gives audience some feeling of mystery.  I am a fan of Taylor Swify and the effects used in her music video is really attracting me.  I hope you can enjoy her music video as me.

I have been recording our music video production in the past several posts throughout the course and it is time for me to make a conclusion about  it.

Idea production :

This is my favourite part during the process of making music video.  I enjoyed coming up a lot  of different ideas for our music video and sharing them with my group members.  At the sametime, we were all wiling  to communicate with each other about our various of ideas.  When we first time listened to this song.  Some words jumped into our brain, such as youth, colorful, freedom, exciting and so on.  We all agreed with these words.

Since we all considered that these words can represent our song,  we decided to make our music video in the style of young, freely, colorfully and exciting.  The most important thing of this part aimed at that making the music video match the song and make the song much more attrctive.  So after several days’ discussion, we want to make a non-narrotive music video with few narrotive scenes which just occupied only three or two seconds interspersing in it.  Some ideas I think is good.

As  it shown under:

1.  making the same people communicate with himself,

2. Some one hold one light and we can change the color of the light so that we can make the scene much more interesting

3.  On the Horsier lane, letting the characters sang in their freestyle

4. We want to use some lights to make the shadow have different colors at the sametime

There are only some of our ideas, we also want to make the backgroud a little different from other normal music video.

The final location that we decided is the Hoursier lane, an apartment, RMIT barsketball cournt and so on.  We also buy some props to set the backgroud, such as poker, fancy sunglasses, colorful scarves and so on.

The first time for shooting

Our first time of shooting took place is on the Horsier Lane and in the apartment.  We arrived on the Housier lane at 6 p.m. and there were still many people so that we tried to find a lane that there are fewer people.  On the day, Kenneth and I worked with the camera, Zoe worked for the lighting and Sherry do both shooting and lighting in the turn with Zoe.  Although, it is the first time for us to shoot a music video,  we still tried our best to deal with them.  We finish this scene at about 9 p.m. and we started shooting in the apartment at 10p.m.. In the apartment, we found a interesting way to use the light make the shadow much more colorful.

The second time for shooting

We shot one characters dancing on the RMIT basketball cournt and the other character in a unknown lane to use the colorful light to make him look cool.  At the sametime, we shoot some B-roll near the Yarra river for our music video.

Editing

It is almost cost us two weeks for editing.  Four of us are all newbies to editing, so we decided to work together.  During the process, we meet a lot of problems, but we solve them one by one through watching the tutorial on the Youtube when we editing our music video.  I must admit the process is very chanlleged for us but we made it.  I really pride of ourselves and love the final music video.

In conclusion, this course makes me learn many things that I did not get in tough with before.  I believe that I can be better in the future course.  See you Egg hunting haha.

The first thing I want to mention is that our music video is very very good in the group’s members’ mind and we are all really pride of it.  Four of our group members are completely newbies for the aspect of making music video, without ability of idea production, shooting, directing, editing and so on.  Absolutely, we met a lot ot difficulties during this project and sometimes we really want to give up. But we did not and we believe ourselves that  we can do it together so that we can finish it perfectly haha.  What’s more, we all consider that we shoud do this video carefully.  Because it is not only we can achieve the good grade but also this is a respect for the three characters’s work.  They also devoted a lot to music video and I want to thank to them for their devotion for this project.

The final version of our music video has some differences from that we planned in the pich that we showed in class before.  At first, we want to make our music video a little narrotive  consisting two storylines: one timeline is a girl want to find the bond and the other is the bond sing the song under the Fliders station bridge opening, on the Horsier lane, in the apartment and so on.  That is all our imagination and we want to match the lyris and song words without giving a understanding for the audience.  However, when we started editing, we found that things we shot can not meet our requirements for the ideas we came up with befroe.  We tried to make them together and combinate the two storylines together.  In fact, we think the colors and quality of different scenes is a big problems for us.  So we changed the idea of the music video.  We give up the shoots under the Flinders bridge opening because its bad quality.  But it is lucky that the quality of the other scenes is good and we can still use them in our music video.  I think we should consider more possible situation that will happen during the project before we start shooting in the later time so that we can avoid a lot of problems during the process of editing.  Choosing this style of song makes our making music video a little difficult because it is hard for us to make the video compeletely narrotive.  There are atill some problems in our final music video, we need to use some effect to cover something  and someone else in the blackground in the scenes.  And some scenes our camera did not focus our three characters but we use some effects to save this situation.  However, I love the music video that we made together haha.  I really enjoy working with our group members.  All of them are careful with this music video and devoted a lot to this music video. Hopelly, we can make the music video better in the future.

Four of our group member spent more that one week focusing on editing our music video and the final fact was all absolutely worth it.  We upload it on the Google Drive and hope everyone saw it can give us some feedback.  Comments are always welcome and I hope you will like it.hhhhh

No.2 we need to use some effect to cover some goofs

No.3 some other details of the actions of the three characters can be shown in the video

No.4 we can do the real people talking to the real people and shadow talking to the shadow, the color of the background may be better

No. we need the cover the hole on the wall in some scenes

Today, we almost finished the music video and we had some problems when we saved the project.  Because the computer did not work when we save the project but we finally solve this problem so that we can show the music video in the tomorrow’s class.  We really looked forward to the suggestions from Rohan and our classmate so that we can use the last week to edit our video better.  I hope to achieve your praise tomorrow haha.

During the past several week, we came up with many ideas for our music video, but there still many blank spaces need to be made.  We found that something we shot before is useless and those may waste some time.  Today, I got a idea of shooting the shadow of holding keys and thought it is very cool and suitable for our music video.  For the rest blank space, we want to ask some professional editor for some further information so help us to make the video much better.

I really like this music video ‘Look what you made me do’ which performed by Taylor Swift.  At the beginning, we can see her that make up as a ghost that may be can give people a feeling of both scared and curious at the same time.  And then it turned into the next luxury scene, she lie in the bathtub and the shooting focus the detail that her hand holding the jewelry.   And I really really like her costumers in this video, such as the choose of the colors, styles,materials and so on.   For the angle of shooting, it is changing all the time so that this will not let people bored about the scenes.  What’s more, it added some fantasy things into it so that this can make the video much more mysterious.  I think I can use some ideas from it into our own music video and it must be very cool.
