Provide some context on the video by summarising the content, the context of publication, and the audience it targets.

This video is created by the Aputure lighting group. Aputure is a cinema lighting company provide strong led lights to filmmakers around the world. Nova p300c is the newest product they made. this video is showing features of Nova light. it has talked about the advantage of the light and what I can be used for. this video is a target on the people who involve in filmmakers around the world.

How was the video made technically?

The video looks like footage and special effects. however, I asked my friend who works in Aputure they said that they were using laser lighting rather than a special effect.  They also use a high-end camera, slider, and lots of their own product. Most of the video is filmed in slow motion and add speeding effects in post-production. They also made their own music and add lots of sound effects in this video.

What similarities and differences can you make with other forms of time-based media?

This Video has added some hidden information in the video. There are three lightings on the screen and its color is red green and blue. It just presents the changeable RGB feature with the footage instead of telling it out at the very first. By using this type of potential information, the information of RGB has already got into the audience’s subconscious. when the audience keeps on watching this video, they may have felt about how is this product, when they start thinking about the advantage of the product, they may think about buying the product. this is what differences this video compares with others. this video is full of potential information telling the audience to purchase their product.

What is innovative about this video?

when I am watching the video, I was thinking that they use the special effect to create those lighting effects we see in the video. However I ask a friend who had done something similar before, he told me that it is not a special effect but real laser lighting. beyond this point, that is what different between them and other videos. they spend time making it happened.

In my understanding Affordances are properties of objects which show users the actions they can take. users are able to identify what the objects are showing and what’s the information comes with the objects. for example, the bottom design in the elevator has shown the audience that the use of an elevator without any written notice.

The name of this work is ‘CPU’. I was cleaning my room yesterday, however, I found a CPU with the motherboard in my storage. this CPU is 2nd generation of intel CPU, it has a history over 12 years already. I try to power it up with my power supply unit and it works. this CPU has stayed in storage for a least 7 years. I am surprised it still works.

I was main to film something else rather than this CPU. but I think this CPU has meant about time for me. these parts belong to the first computer in my family. it was the memory of my childhood.  I play games with my friends on this computer and I learn a lot about the computer because of using it.

Q1

I film the video on my iPhone. when I try to film the video with 4k 60fps, there is flicker of the lights on the screen so I choose 4k 24fps to film it. I film 2 video one is the type of CPU the other is the successful running of the computer.  after all, I use the iMovie to edit 2 clips together and I also add old-style music as the background music.

Q2

when I upload to Instagram I choose 16:9 format instead of 1:1 format. it is able to show more in the video. I add some text to explain the video. however, I did not add any location detail because of I don’t want to share my location on the internet. I add a filter provide by Instagram to bring out some old feeling of the video. it really works great with the music.

The name of this work is “storm”

it is a film on the plane when I traveling to another city. the storm just right next to the plane. when I recording the video I was thinking about how am I going to choose the shots of my new short film. it is great to having contemplation about my new work on the plane.

Q1

I used my phone to film this video. when I start recording the first time there are some reflections on the window. I had to change the position of the phone avoiding the reflection of the internal light source.  I was trying to use time-lapse to film it. however, that result doesn’t bring out the same feeling when I am on the plane. so I record with 4k 60p and it achieves what I feel at that moment.

Q2

I upload the video on Instagram. I choose the 16:9 format this time, because of the 1:1 ratio will cut off the engine of the plane. I also add a filter name HeFe. it has brought out a strong contrast of the darkness.

this work name is “flow”. under the situation of covid19, we can only stay at home all the time.  we still have things to deal with at home, but the time we usually spend with friends now it fully blank. the time flows always, but we have more blank time to deal with in life.

Q1:

This idea was come out when I am thinking about a new short film.i saw the shadows move by the sunlight. I used my iphone7 to record this video. I place an electrical slider with a light at the back of me. The video may feel like a time-lapse, but it is not, it just slow motion. I control the position of the light on the silver to fake the moving of sun lights. I was holding a controller and sitting on the chair.

The camera is catching the shadow of me. I want to show the feeling of loneliness. in order to achieve that I mute the sound and bring the saturation close to zero. this move has brings a stronger feelings of the lonely in the video.

Q2:

I use iMovie to edit the video.  and upload it to Instagram by same iPhone. Instagram has offered me the choice of square or 16:9. I choose a square. because the is something dispersion things at the side of the original footage I want to avoid.

I did not put any location on Instagram, I don’t want people to know which city I in.

I didn’t write anything on the post. because I want people to understand the video by themselves instead of reading my words.
