Noticing

Noticing: we are asked to embed the series of moments of noticing electronic devices. Computers and phones are used in so many fields on our daily life. They have made our life easier. Unsurprisingly a growing number of people feel disconcerted with the insatiable pull their phones exercise on them, and are unhappy with the amount of time and attention they give to these devices in return. I notice that heavy smartphone and computer use can have a deleterious effect on our lives. For example, it causes loss of empathy and connection with others. To be honest, I experienced it sometimes. Someone talks to me but I was on my phone so that I pay lass attention to that person. It means that we were with and keep our conversations more superficial, when there is a good chance we will be interrupted and we don’t see the point in trying to connect with someone on a deeper level. Also, electronic devices give rise to loss of sleep. I know that most of people around me, including myself that we fall asleep with our smartphone in our hands. For me, I notice that I usually check my phone in the middle of the night after getting a notification. The most obvious point is that most of students lose focus and ability to do deep with electronic devices. I cannot say that phones and computers are totally harmful because they help us get work done effectively. However, I found that even when digital devices users shut everything off so they can focus on doing something, the habit of operating with divided attention is so ingrained in their brains, they still have a hard time concentrating like

taking phones up and check again…This is what I notice in the process of doing this topic.
