I can’t believe today is the last lecture for this semester, I had to say that it has been so fun and I really enjoyed it. Come back to the process of this lecture, it was divided into four parts:
-Draw Learning Graph
-Finish Subject survey
-Summary and reflection of this semester
-Introduce studios in semester two
For learning graph, we are asked to use four lines to value ourselves, which are:
-Technical skills, conceptual
-Theoretical skills
-Ways of working and learning
-A sense of your media practice
The learning graph above is my reflection of Media One course. Although it is undeniable that I gained a great deal of knowledge at the end of this term, I still experienced up and downs.
When it came to the practice line, I guess this might be the steadiest climb because it’s like technical skills (filming, editing, software, recording). It is worth mentioning that I had learned to use Adobe Piemere CC and Adobe Audition. To be honest, I haven’t edited videos or audios by using these software before. Therefore, I searched some teaching videos then I followed the operation steps to learn afterwards. Since I practiced several times, I guess I won’t be too unfamiliar with them in future.
Besides, the conceptual study is increasing overall. Actually, I studied Media course in Trinity College last year so I have already knew some knowledge in some part of media area. However, I found Media one course in RMIT is very different from what I’ve done in last year. The reason why I claimed it is because we used to learn conceptual knowledge, like writing essay in media area. However, I realized that Media one course is more practical which means that we have chance to produce videos and audio, and editing skills. In short, I gained lots of new knowledge though this semester.
To be honest, the lowest line is the ways of study due to the reason that it is related to my learning state (maybe too much stress in some weeks? Get some feedback that influence my ways of study?….) For example, all of us brought our rough cut to the class and asked classmates to value and do comment on it. Whenever I receive their feedback, there are a lot of rooms for improvement. In this case, I had to change the ways I’ve done. Therefore, my ways of learning is always up and downs.
To summarize, I really enjoyed this term because I’ve learned so many new things and I will use them in my future course or jobs.
