Proximity Interactive
This work uses real-time video effects to show participants’ physical movements and status.
It invites audiences to shape space using their own bodies. The real-time video effects position audiences as the active participant – generating a world of magical effects and drawing the movement of their bodies in space.
Participation is at the core of this project and through this work, audiences are encouraged to enter into a choreographic mode.
Shadow Monsters
It is a playful real-time interactive experience. Create funny monsters with your shadow. Simply stand in front of the light box and move your body. As you do this, the camera will capture your movements and input them into a computer. The images are then transformed into ‘monster body’ shapes that are then projected onto the screen.
This artwork encourages audiences to use their shadows to perform on the screen and some image effects combined with shadows. This project is an artwork that relies entirely on interaction and requires the audience to create their own finished products. It might be useful if my next work will focus on video interactions.
Sound Editing
This work is similar to my first project, which is to choose a sound clip and add it to a film sequence. However, in this artwork, the participation in the production process allows for the recording and final playback, this is what I need to improve.
Sound is critical to the impact of the moving image whether it is in the form of dialogue, sound effects or composed music. The sound editor uses it to create an emotional connection between the viewer and the on-screen action – this interactive exhibit demonstrates how this process works.
Chairs
These chairs are not very obvious interactive artworks. Their interaction with the audience is not actual or visible, but more spiritual, for example, when you see the beanbag, you might want to sit down and lie on it. The beanbag’s versatile shape, offering the sitter a variety of lounging positions, and its three-dimensional design, allowing it to be placed anywhere in a room, spoke directly to the casual, social lifestyle. Sometimes, interactions are not actually accessible, but can also be conveyed through spiritual and conscious.
