‘Vampire’ is the theme that I interested in when I was young, because the vampires are always very mysterious and just exist in myths or stories. When I was in secondary school, more long-term TV shows about vampires and werewolves were published, especially in the US. To be honest, I really cannot understand why most of foreign TV shows or drama that published weekly, it makes the audiences wait very anxious about the development of plots. I am the typical example!

In the initiative post, I want to talk about one of my favorite movie, ‘The Vampire Diaries’. I believe it is so famous, especially in previous years. It is an American supernatural drama television series about the love story of vampires. The Vampire Diaries has 171 episodes, over eight seasons and premiered in 2009 for the first episode. The last season, which is season eight ended until March in 2017.

The reason why I love this television series is not only the type of subject, but also the frames and  the artistic conceptions. I also like the storyline in the series, but only limited on the previous five seasons, because the story of main characteristics became so confused in the last three seasons. However, the confusing story still cannot stop my love to the series.

As we talked in this week’s lecture, voices, sounds and musics are important for audios, films and television shows. The audiences could have different feelings through these elements. For example, when the vampires want to hit people, the music would become horrible; when the couple having a date, the music would become soft. Moreover, the sounds of background are also crucial because it could become the links that let the audiences guess what will happen next.

Except aspect of audio, environment is another necessary element. When we mention ‘vampires’, the classic place they would be appear is cemetery, so most of the environment in the series are in the dark, because it could represents ‘vampires’. However, there are some scenes happened in the day as well. The contrast between these two scenes may be pretty funny because the vampires need to pretend they are human beings.

The video below is published by a fan. The person edit the scenes he/she favorite in each episode together and create a new short video. Actually, I think the connection among each scene are pretty well and the subtitles appear at right time. The only thing need to improve is the music. It is too simple and some scenes need creative sounds or musics.

Postscript:

The first thing when I watch the movie or video or TV show is to pay attention to the skills of editing since I study media….. It is too strange!
