Media Workshop – 8
Three hours of this week’s workshop has gone so quickly because all of us are focusing on the final cut of PB 3. At the begining of class, we discussed the topic of lecture, which is ‘audiences’ and Mr. Brian showed the brief plan for this semster on the screen. Time goes so fast, this week is week 8 and there are only 4 weeks left of semester 1. I still can remember the first day I had class in the university, the first assessment I did, the hard questions I faced… Media and Communication is a major which is difficult but interesting, I learned a lot that I could not do before, such as use premiere pro, editing, write the framework of the story and shoot it, do the interview.
The rest time of the class is for us to finish PB 3. At the same time, Mr. Brian suggested that, we can show our rough cut to two or three people and receive some feedback from them. Mr. Brian also could view our rough cut and give us some suggestions. According to classmates and Mr. Brian’s feedback, I summed up the following issues that exist in my video:
- The audio of the interviewee are too less
- Need more shots about the interview
- Balance the shots of the interviewee and the clicks
- The music I used in the video are too much
Thanks to their advices, I will do some modifications on the video to makes it looks better.
Here is an extra warm thing happened in the class I want to record in the blog:
Before Mr. Brian watched my video, I told him that I went back to China during Easter Holiday so this video was completed in China. The first thing he asked was not about the assessment, but was: ‘Did everything great?’ Actually not, because my dad was in hospital and could not send me to the airport. Mr. Brian comforted me and his words made me feel better. I cried for the whole day yesterday, the teacher of pop culture asked me what’s wrong as well when he saw me for the first glance. The concern of teachers moved me so much, they care my mood more than the assessment. Thanks. I believe everything will be better.
