Media workshop – 7
Today is the due date of the rough cut of Project Brief 3, I am glad that I have already thought about the framework of the video and took most of shoots I needed. The most important thing I felt happy was that my friend agreed to participate in the video and do the interview. The only thing I need to do for the next step is to edit the whole materials I took together and select the music and audios. I am looking forward to watch the completed video because it is the first time that I made the video for my best friend.
The activity for today’s workshop is to do a filming exercise. It is helpful for improving and consolidating our visual story writing and filming skills. The original idea of the exercise is to exercise our skills to do a completed short video in-camera, instead of editing many pieces of cuts or images and audios. I think it is useful for practice to creating the framework of the video and do the brainstorm before start work on the project.
The main places of today’s exercise is at Federation Square and the general areas bounded by Federation Square, the Yarra river and Flinder Station. To be honest, I really like the workshop that held outside, because most of classes I had were in the classroom when I was in China, even when I had foundation program in Sydney. However, observation is a crucial point for the major of media. It is necessary for us to pay attention to everything around us and record something interesting in our mind or on the blog. Media is the major which is more close to our life. Thus, it is great that do the group exercise like this frequently.
