Goodfellas 1990 Vs Casino 1995

Goodfella is directed by Martin Scorsese, it was one of his best films.  Lots of critics regards Goodfella as the best film by Scorsese, and they think after Goodfella, there is no more great film created by Scorsese. When Casino came out, critics compared it with Goodfella, they saw lots of similarities . However, in my opinion, Casino is even better than Goodfella, it has lots of high stand skills.

On the one hand, both of films use narrators to tell stories. However, in the Goodfella, Henry Hill is the only one who has narration in the whole film.  But in the Casino, it tells stories from two narrators (Sam and Nicky). From their narration, we can see more about their inner world and different perspectives.

On the other hand, they both use similar camera movements and angles, such as steadicam,long shot,zooming shot etc. However, in the Casino, it use higher level techs such as high speed panning shots to create tension, and high angle ex-long shot to explain the situation.

Both films are great, you need to watch twice or more, then you can explore more.
