Week2 -Lecture

In the lecture, we have the graduate Jeremy Bowtell talked about the edit. He mentioned editing is about gaps,juxtaposition, breaking and fixing things. He provided the advice from a expert about editing: when we edit, every cut should have a appropriate reason otherwise dont make a cut. We need to think about the emotion,story, rhythm,eye-trace, 2D,3D place when we edit. I love watching Casino which he had mentioned in the lecture, it has perfect editing skills, every cut has its meaning, the film is worth watching time and time again to analyze its skills and shots. Dr.Morris asked us to   make a list about 5 things we think of about media. I think media is about communication, it is a bridge that connecting people together, its about sharing information. Also, Media has many form, such as music, films, cinema,magazine etc. In China, our government has regulation and control of media, we cant use Facebook ,Youtube or twitter etc. We are living in a world of media, it is everywhere.
