Project Brief 1

 

There is a lot of thing I like to do this semester. And it is great I could have chance working with people from digital media, and I am looking forward to do it.  Sound is always one of the most important part of a great film, and also the hard one. I find that it is always so difficult to pick great music  and sound representing the emotion , and when it comes to editing, it becomes even harder to match with the visual. Sound could improve the visual  and could also ruin it. Therefore, due to my previous  unpleasant experience, I really want to make a big improvement in sound ,  and explore a way to create quality audio pieces which could truly express the emotion of a film  to audience and immerse them. So I want to learn more skills of editing sound.  I like the soundtrack from La La Land, I was immersed when I was watching this love story, and I can feel their happiness , sadness, loneliness and helpless. The immersion is I was feeling like experiencing the whole story. And that’s the power of visual and audio.  I wanna know the relationship between visual and sound, and explore how  they works together to achieve this amazing result. At meantime, I want to create a  film for my portfolio,  so I hope I could have more freedom playing with new and different elements, to do some experimental work. And I want to learn some practical skills which would be useful and could  benefit to my future career. So I want to better collaboration with people as a group, to create something together which is  also important to me.
