Reflection #6 – INDIV_EX_2

 

 

For the second individual exercise, although it is called individual, we still need people to help, because it impossible to do it alone, so I did it with my group, they helped to do the boom pole and microphone, and also be the interviewer. We have 6 people, and need to get all done by afternoon since everyone is not available after that . We help all group members to do their interviews, so everyone needs to do it as quickly as possible. Therefore, when I was shooting, I didn’t  have many time to think carefully, or did it one more time, cause my group was waiting for me. Therefore,  I realized that being a film director, you need to prepare and think about every details before start shooting, and need to keep your brain fresh and active, because everyone is waiting for your decision.  I am not satisfied with my work that time, because I didn’t prepare well before shooting, so I messed it up. I didn’t adjust the focus properly, it looks soft in the screen, and I forgot to care about Rachel’s(my interviewee) eye-line, she looked down in the interview.  I don’t use the interviewer’s voice, it was too low, instead I typed the questions. And I also made the opening sequence myself to make it more interesting.  From this exercise, I realized that there are lots of things I need to improve for my next shooting.
