The People Formerly Known as the Audience

As the reading mentioned the people formerly know as the  audience were people on the receiving end of media system that ran one way, and nowadays people no long did that. People are no long just audience, they could access to media platform and control it by themselves.  Jeff Jarvis suggested :”Give the people control of media, they will use it. The corollary: Don’t give the people control of media, and you will lose. Whenever citizens can exercise control, they will”. I disagree with him.  I think people are free to choose what they want to do as long as they enjoy, they want get involved with media, communicate with others. Just like Mark Thompson said: The Active Audience (“who doesn’t want to just sit there but to take part, debate, create, communicate, share.”) Now we are all active audience. We still listen to radio, watch films in theater, and at same time, we like to create video, take photos, write blog ourselves,  there is nothing wrong to keep both old style and new style.
