Week 8 – Reading for annoted bibliography

 

 

One of my reading is from Peason ‘Teaching, Learning, and Sharing: How Today’s Higher Education Faculty Use Social Media’.

The article explores the mode of using social media among higher education faculty by doing survey to collect the participants’ usage of social media .The survey included social media such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Flickr etc., it also included video blog and wiki as well. The article suggests that Facebook has the highest rate of both visited site and posting site for personal use, and YouTube comes second (but has low posting rates). The article also explores that 2/3 of all higher education faculty have used social media in class, and 80% of faculty have used online video in class. The article also explores the most pressing concerns of using social media are lacking of integrity and privacy.
