Week4- H2N Zoom Recorder- recording exercise

We have done a little exercise using this cute mini H2N Zoom Recorder. Yolanda and I was thinking to record the interview and background sound separately, so it will be easier for us to do post-edit. We found a quiet area which was the little room between two entrances of the balcony and the studying area. Yolanda was the interviewer, and I was the interviewee. We recorded the question and answers separately as well.  Then we recorded the noise in the balcony, sound of foot steps and the sounds of elevator as spot sound. Luckily, the sound that we recorded was quite clear, and the H2N was easy to use, it could adjusted the level of sound.

As for editing, Audition seems easy to use. However, there were lots sound like ‘uh..’,’em..’ which I need to cut out, it was difficult to cut properly,  and the sound will sounds weird after cutting.  We don’t have too much background noise because we recored all the sound separately, so it saved me lots of time. When I combined all the sound together, The first part of the audio, I made it as formal interview, I minimized the background noise. And the second part was the informal interview, I made the background noise louder but not over the voice of  interview.  I was happy with my final audio, because it sounds nature and clear.
