Today in our workshop we used the Sony MC50E video camera and H2N audio recorder. This is a test run of the Sony camera used hand-held. I really like how easy the camera is to use. We figured out that you cannot adjust the audio levels when recording, but otherwise it’s a pretty nifty thing.
This is a short test interview that I did with Bliss. We recorded this outside in low foot-traffic spot.
The quietest sound we found on campus was in the elevator. The noise from the airconditioning was minimal. We also found that it was quiet in the garbage bins with lids, but that would be a pretty gross place to conduct an interview.
Overall I’m pretty excited to use this equipment for project brief 3, especially the camera. My subject is a mover and a shaker so this lightweight camera will be great for hand-held shots when I’m following him around.
