Today I met up with Amy and Evangeline for our first meeting as a group. We will be working on project brief 4 together and our media concept is TEXT. Initially we were all kind of confused by the project brief, but after discussing it together and picking it apart we got a general idea of what the project asks of us.
We began by discussing what ‘texts’ are. It’s overwhelming to think about all the media texts ever created and how much theory there must be about these texts, so I think it’s gonna be a pretty large research project, but I’m ready to accept the challenge…
I know that I am interested in film, the film language of symbols, techniques and formulas that have been developed over time and the intertextuality of films. I decided I was going to look into that first for this project.
We also decided on a time to meet, what the best mode of communication is for all of us, and we brainstormed some (amazing) ideas for the presentation of our findings.
