The Un-Symposium: Week Twelve
I attended today’s lecture, but unfortunately most of my attention was elsewhere. I’ll give summing up the lecture a go, regardless.
Today’s lecture was more of a re-cap of the topics covered over the last 11 weeks, so excuse me if I’m repeating things.
Points of contention:
- Databases – separating presentation and information. A form of archiving information
- Networks – there was definitely something about networks in there
- The Lawrence Lessig niki should be altered and the hate letter discarded because, at some point, he’ll more than likely read it (which it now has been – thanks Kevin)
That’s about all I can remember from the lecture. I once heard someone say that the human brain can only remember 12 points from any one sitting. I’m ashamed to say I was so distant that my mind can only seem to recall three.
Wait, four. Adrian, Jasmine, Elliott and Brian all spoke about the structure of the course. Brian and Jasmine, especially, apologised for its organic and sporadic nature, and thanked us for our patience. I’m not so sure I’m sold on the whole spontaneous course structure just yet, however. Call me old fashioned, but I do like a certain amount of structure within my education.
Anyway, that’s all for now folks.
