Guest Lecture – Dr. Troy Innocent

Today was a guest lecture by Dr. Troy Innocent who would also be on the panel list while we give our presentation for pitches. I would like to talk about Urban Codemakers an interactive gameplay device by Dr. Troy.

The players in this game are spread in different teams and all the teams have different roles. We would like to incorporate this aspect of Dr. Troy’s game in our project.

Our website is a data base of covert organisation and the viewers would be reading the documents as though they are employees of the website. We are planning to create a log in system for the viewers to access this data base. Would it be wise to diversify the viewers in the different ‘division’ of the organisation? So just like Troy’s game, each viewer aka member would be placed in different organisation and would have a different role and path towards unfolding the story. These were the core questions we started asking each other along with planning our pitches.

As of now we are still working around the details of the story and trying to set up the website and get ready for the pitches. But Troy’s lecture got us thinking in developing our project in a niche way so to speak which would help make it more interactive and trans-medic.

Dr. Troy gave a ton of different examples on how to create interactive plays and was very interesting to listen to him. Our group has taken clues from the lecture and would be counting on his thought process towards further developing our project.
