In presenting my Project Brief 3, I was able to get some more intimate feedback from the table of people I was sitting at. All members received particular things to look at and critique in my piece.
Red Hat – Initial Response:
– Seeing the thumbnail before the film started, they saw the sign reading ‘Max Pawsey Reserve’, so to them going in they felt as if they knew that Max did not just have a large impact on my life but also on the world.
Yellow Hat – what worked
the conversation between my mother and I. The fact we were reminiscing and playing off of each other’s emotions and stories of Max, it not feeling scripted.
The general and ‘found footage’ all worked and complimented the audio components of the piece.
Black Hat – what didn’t work
– during the skype conversation sometimes the fact it was an informal conversation didn’t work, such as interrupting each other’s thoughts with a ‘yeah’ or something in agreement did detract from the overall piece.
Green – Another creative possibility:
– the possibility of hearing from other perspectives about Max, for example his brothers other children or grandchildren.
Feedback I gave to – Jarrod
thoroughly enjoyed his overall piece
Liked how his elements of pictures put together like pieces of paper on the bedroom mirror created more of a standout effect as they were edited in during post, instead of being printed out.
Also thought the structure of his piece was effective of getting to see
