Making a film on my grandfather gave me the unique opportunity to visit the places in which he had an impact. For instance the Max Pawsey reserve in Narre Warren in Berwick city. Berwick is on the outskirts of Melbourne and it is where may grandfather and grandmother raised my mother and her siblings. It is also where many of my cousins, brother and I were born. I hadn’t been back there in almost 15 years, so since moving back to Melbourne from Brisbane it was a cereal filming experience.

Since there was no script in particular to follow, I had the chance to just film around the reserve in Narre Warren and get some nice shots of the area and think about my grandfather and his impact on my life. It was certainly an emotion day of shooting, however gave me the chance to see the Project Brief take shape. Seeing the way I can add found footage, other things he loved and did. As well as even my mother and I talking about him and what he meant to us. There was a lot of ideas coming out of the day of filming.
