Had the chance during week 3’s Media 1 prac to present our Project Brief 1’s to a small group of our classmates. It was beneficial and helped me to see both the strengths and weaknesses of my piece.

Firstly I saw that the strengths of my piece were mainly how all my elements related to me and were true representations of who I am. While also being able to see how I have developed as a person through these elements of media. However several elements did stand out. It seems as though my personal written piece was the greatest stand out. More than likely because it was something a bit different, the most abstract of my elements. Where as the rest seemed to be simple and straight forward.

There were also some weaknesses to my piece that were quite clear when seeing many other people’s different elements. The biggest is that there was no clear concept to my media elements, no linking undertone or main idea. It was mainly just a whole assortment of things that feel represent me, while effective, didn’t help for my overall piece to stand out. It was definitely something I look to fix moving forward into project brief 2.
