Story Synopsis

1. In the year 2030, a city is taken over by aliens. The people who survived live in exile underground and must live like animals in order to survive. The story follows a boy of seventeen named Peter and his two best friends Alex and Rose. The people of the underground plan escape and refuge in another land by voyaging in their last remaining trolling boat. Circumstances lead the three best friends to miss the boat which leaves them alone and in danger. They are left to search their captured city for food and water whilst avoiding capture and death by the aliens.

2. A story of an angry old man named Walter, who has recently been diagnosed with cancer. An unlikely friendship forms with his neighbour, a young eight year old boy called Jack who is being bullied at school. They teach each other the meaning of life and how to cope with life’s hardships.
