For the overall shooting process, I felt a lot in many aspects, and I also realised some parts that need to be improved.
First of all, our shooting sequence is based on the order of the previous storyboard, and in this way it made our shooting very efficient and fluent, because we know what footages were exactly what we want. However when we had a new idea during the shooting, we didn’t hesitate to try to shoot, because then you can have the comparison with the original idea and then pick up the better one. Thus, it is sometimes a good way to try the new idea which suddenly appears.
Secondly, I think that during the shooting process, for a scene, sometimes you can shoot several times in different ways as back up footage. The footage you see on the camera screen when shooting and the footage you see when editing may be different, then If you have back up footage, you can pick some good ones among them to make your film better. Also when shooting an action shot, it better to act and film before the action start, in this way the clip will be more natural and easy to cut when connect with different shots.
Moreover, shooting is a long process, it is hard to maintain patience and positive about long time shooting, so as a team, each team member needs to actively mobilise their emotions and try not to over-express negative emotions, also during the shooting, time break could be necessary.
For the parts we need to take care more is the protection of equipment. During the shooting process, we continued to move the equipments, however our cameras almost fell to the ground twice, it made us feel super nervous, so for the next shooting we must be more careful about it.
