As last reflection I mentioned how teamwork is important, however this time I am even truly feel the importance of teamwork. For the practice shooting “Lucy”, we did not divide the work well, which all teammates were stubborned and no one gave a solution at first, thus it wasted a lot of time. Then after a quick discussion we finally made the dividing work however the result did not satisfied all of us. So I think have a communication and good teamwork is the beginning of a film making process, it really worthy of attention. And sometimes it is worthwhile to make a little retreat for a team, also we can negotiate with teammates to make a good solution.
Following the order of shooting process is important as well. In class Paul mentioned we have to CLAP when start shooting, however we did not notice how important it is, when shoot we totally forgot it! And this caused a huge problem—when I do the merge it is so hard to match the right audio to footage (because the sound and footage were recorded separately), I even do not know when is the director saying “action” or “cut”. Thus it makes the editing work harder and harder. Also as mentioned above we had a problem on dividing work, it also lead to a problem on writing the sheet. And after a half of shooting we realised we did not write the sheet, though we wrote it later but still forget write the audio number, this no doubly make the editing work even harder later. When I edit I have to check the video while checking the audio, it is so inefficient and the result is bad, as the video shows, sometimes the audio and video doesn’t match, because I totally confused. So it is so important to do every step well of the shooting process, they are all connected to the next step.
