The theme of the third is showing a process of the exuberance to gradually depletion of life. This work is using both images and sound to perform the theme, which spring image and sound to represent the life’s exuberance, a little river image and sound to represent the life has gradually become calm and the last black image without any sounds represent the life is finally deplete. To participate in the work, user need to control the system by themselves — press “1”, “2” and “3” on keyboard to control the system to see the process. With the participation, users can have a better consideration of the work theme.
The system consists of a music playlist, image(or video) playlist, a “pwindow” and a “key” of the sending message. In the playlist there are two sounds and images —spring and a flowing river, and “key” is sending message to play those things on the “pwindow” while pressing “1”, “2” and “3” on keyboard. This work is totally different with my last two works, I tried to use new technique, however, because I’m still unfamiliar with some techniques with MAX, I faced lots of problems, such as setting “key” to send messages. Fortunately Camille helped me a lot and finally create my work which was exactly the same as my plan. In the future study I would like to explore more techniques on MAX and try to do more on my own.
