Broadcast Journal #4

So I totally got off on the wrong foot with this assessment, which is disappointing for me, most of all, I think. Last week I was sick enough that I had to see the doctor, who wrote me a note, but letting down Izzy is a total bummer and I hate being the one in a group that lets people down. Or, one person.
Anyway, Izzy didn’t make it in today, which means I got heaps of time to edit. On Friday, I visited Luke at Sticky, got a ton of good content (the interview was great – doing radio interviews on SYN means I know when to let people talk and when to look engaged and when to talk). On top of that, the sound was surprisingly good – there’s the sound of someone making badges in the background, but that’s pretty authentic sounding, and Luke turned the music way down so there isn’t too much noise.
I also faced my fears and went to talk to someone by myself and didn’t have a panic attack, so I think I’m improving.
Today I went through and did a bit of a reworking of our piece. Hopefully it made up for my not being present so much on rough cut day. Basically, I added a lot of sound effects I found on the internet last week, to add some more texture (as Izzy noted from class comments), and I added a bit more music and more interview parts.
We’re meeting up soon, I think, so hopefully this will be done with.
