Character development
- the reactions to given scenarios usually forms the plot
- causality allows a character to move from a blank slate to a fully formed figure
Plot
- Person carrying out action, the action itself, and to who the action is being down
Resolution
- Doesn’t have to necessarily be the final element, but can be the natural end
- Can give clues to the early ploy

Genre
- Looking for patterns throughout stories
- Instantly recognisable
Cult
- If it can be pulled apart into into various elements, which can be appreciated at the same level if not more than the complete original
Representation – refined method of depicting characters or scenarios
Expectations – if we see something often enough, we recognise signs and predict what is going to happen
