What first attracted me to the blog ‘Beauty and Well Being,’ was its subject matter. Beauty and well being have always interested me, so naturally I was more than happy to scope out this blog. The first thing I noticed was the blog’s simple yet sophisticated aesthetic/layout. Its colour scheme is mostly monochrome with a hint of pale pink, with the blog being mostly comprised of photos with the article title beneath for readers to click on to be taken to their chosen entry. The side bar makes for easy navigation as readers can chose different topics to explore. This easy to navigate formula which peaks readers interests through photos, is part of the reason why this blog is so successful. Additionally, the posts are informative and up to date as they talk about new trends and findings in beauty and health. Here they also recommend and review products informing viewers of what to buy and where. I believe this reviewing of new products on the market, helps to draw an audience. ‘Beauty and Well Being’ is a well curated blog made up of many authors.This results in a balance of informative articles that may relay the benefits of the latest products, to personal accounts which may reveal how an author stumbled upon a healthy recipe. It is this combination of slightly more formal and informal posts, that allows the blog to cater to a large audience.
