From my understanding of the studio description for this class we are investigating and researching how a scene can be covered. In particular a scene in a fictional piece.
I think what seems particularly interesting about this concept is that the coverage of the scene, how it was achieved and why it was shot, is not something that is readily available information for the public. You would most likely need to be in the team that works with the directors or on the set.
The concept of coverage in a scene is also a concept that you would often forget about when watching a piece of media. In most cases, you aren’t sitting watching and wondering what else ‘could have’ been in the scene, you are thinking about what is. It is an interesting concept to think about what could have been omitted in the scene either on purpose or accidentally.
From this class I hope that I will be able to easily recognise the key terms of coverage and how to use them in an effective and useful way. I would also ideally like to be able to use the cameras that we are using the classes to as high of a standard as possible when finished.
