I saw lots of interesting interactive exhibits at the museum. Here are some photos of one of my favourites:
These three televisions were set in a room with couches. It was telling a short documentary about Australian suburbs. I didn’t watch the whole documentary so I can’t tell you everything that happened! But I thought it was very interesting how they had three different pictures to tell the same part of the story. Every now and then they would add in one shot that took up the three screens. But for the most part each screen played a different video. I thought this was very smart and very visually appealing. It offered lots of different options of what to look at or created one interesting image.
This is definitely an idea I’d like to use in the future! I think that it wouldn’t work with my third solo project, so I couldn’t use it in this class. But I will definitely keep it in mind!
The other piece I saw reminded me a lot of my first and last solo projects! You simply pressed the button and then the video of that insect played. It made me think a little bit about how I should change my project. Maybe I should have the video screen on the top of the screen and the map on the bottom, then not worry about the screen become full screen and exiting the full screen.
