The first project I played around with was Jake Low’s project. I really liked the kind of colours that were created in the video screen. It was exciting to have instructions and not know what was going to happen when I pressed them. I wasn’t quite sure why the video of myself came up on the side of the distorted screen. I don’t think it was necessary, although I don’t think it was a huge issue that it was there either, it wasn’t hugely distracting. I liked how you could move the slider around to play with the distortion of the visuals and music, although I think that it may have been more effective if the slider had been slightly bigger. But overall I really enjoyed it!
The second project I had a look at was Chi Kay Wong’s. I honestly didn’t know what to expect when I clicked the letters for the animals, but I was pleasantly surprised! I found this project very fun! And I think it was smart that she added in the instruction to use the spacebar to reset. This may have been an instruction that I should have incorporated into my project. My only criticism would be to maybe make the writing a bit bigger and possibly a different font? Maybe incorporate some different colours or something like that.
The last piece of work that I looked at was Lauren Bisignano’s. I’m not entirely sure if my computer just wasn’t working properly or if there was a glitch. But there were no instructions on what to do in the project when I first opened it. After unlocking and getting out of presentation mode several times, I ended up figuring out that you pressed numbers to get different colours and specific music that went along with that. And when I figured it out, I really enjoyed it! But again, it just needed simple instructions to be fully effective. I also felt like the music was all quite similar and maybe it could have more effective if it related more to the colours.
