Week Eleven

We’ve been able to progress quite a bit on our project since our last consultation, especially in the way of re-structuring our sequence and identifying what is yet required to fill in the gaps. I’ve been able to edit the visuals of Rochelle’s interview, toning down the yellow and also making the light coming from the window less saturated. Bronte and I have also really cut down on the footage since we initially showed it to the class in week nine, as well as having found loads more found footage to use for b-roll and additional content (including current audio interview footage between Leigh Sales and current Treasurer, Scott Morrison).

Unfortunately, we experienced some real technical difficulties while trying to show the class our sequence for feedback on Friday. For whatever reason, every time I attempted to open my Premier it would automatically close itself. My Creative Cloud was also popping up, requesting me to sign in quite a few times in a row. After transferring all of the footage that we have included in the sequence to my hard drive, we have transferred everything to the Media Server and to my account in the editing suite to work on our film from in there.

In terms of what we are yet to do, there are three main things: a) to find a little more found footage for the beginning (which will perform the job of illustrating how periods are still a taboo topic); b) completing vox pops (which will fulfil the same function) and c) filming a little more b-roll to break up the interviews with. Some of the fonts that haven’t been properly transferred over from my computer need to be updated. Other than that we really need to just condense the entire sequence into under ten minutes before it’s due next week.
