Practice shots

Several weeks back Michael and I made our way to the edge of the Maribong River in Footscray to capture some footage of long grass and how image can interact with this space. Unfortunately, we were limited in terms of what we  could do due to unfortunate weather conditions. Not only were our movements restricted, having to ensure that the equipment was underneath an umbrella, there was also a “mist” that impacted on the clarity of the image.

In having said this, the aftermath of what was quite a big storm ultimately became a really great backdrop, giving the space greater complexity than merely being a field of long grass. We would like to return to this location in better conditions and have another go and investigating how a space or location can be unpacked and understood.
