In many ways it is a scary time to be pursuing a pathway into the incredibly diverse fields of media and communications. The media environment is changing form constantly, as are the jobs available and the markets that they are undeniably contingent upon. But even amongst all of that uncertainty, the industry at large is an umbrella under which such a plethora of opportunities and pathways exist. If nothing else, the first lecture marking the beginning of our studies in Media One really brought to my attention the flexibility within the course to essentially pursue what you wish and to diversify yourself and your skills set in as many ways as possible. While I don’t necessarily have in my mind a single career path to follow (just yet) I love the breadth and space that the course permits you in discovering your niche and in following that through to see where it takes you.
