Media is made up of television, radio, films and any other electronic form of communication, entertainment or conveying information.

Googles definition of Communication is “the imparting or exchanging of information by speaking, writing, or using some other medium”

but how is television an effective means of communication? I mean we don’t talk to the tv do we, and we can’t have lovely chat with it…if we were to I believe some people might find us rather strange…

Its because the television is communicating ideas to the audience that can activate a response or opinion. Its basically a way of getting ideas across by the masses. So its good and communicating to a large sum of people.

What scares me is the negative effect this can have when the wrong footage is shown in the media for example at the moment there is a lot of rhetoric in the media surrounding terrorism. Now it isn’t exactly my place to be talking since I don’t have much knowledge in the area but I am fearful that the more the media publicises an idea whether good or bad the more the get people thinking about it and may cause a chain reaction. Because these incidents thrive of media publication…isn’t that the very one thing we shouldn’t be giving it? attention? #foodforthought #fearful #TheMediaEffect
