Quiet Life of CRazy.

Quiet Life of Crazy
By Sarah Brooke

My overall message was to represent my life as a teenager. There is certain richness in being young, the day is unpredictable and all it might take is a single text message and I am doing something I never would have thought to would schedule in for the day.
Using the editing tools available I didn’t want to turn my piece into a cliché feel good but rather an accurate reflection. Sometimes life is weird and strange, a bit fast pace and a bit crazy, but for me that’s all part of it.

The shots I chose were regular things that don’t necessarily glorify my life but consume it in one way or another. The shots of food at home are a good representation of how I spend my time lounging at home or studying. The audio is popcorn popping in rhythm. It creates a stronger ambience and feel.

The man dancing is my best friend. He and I have shared some of the funniest and greatest memories together. Sometimes in life we come across people who never make a day boring and bring adventure with them, he is one of those people. Consequently I decided to edit his laughter to give off an eerie and strange feeling. There is never a normal day with him.

The shot of American items represent where I was born and my original nationality vs. the photo of Japanese items or ornaments to demonstrate my passion for languages and the country I would love to revisit one day.

I wanted to represent a small portion of my personality through an object. This is why I am blowing bubbles at the end of the short piece. I can be a bubbly person at times full of joy and innocence. Bubbles are a great symbolizes of this because they are associated with happiness.

The beat boxing sound that comes in and out windows my love for all kinds of music, but in particular urban and Hip Hop music. I guess in a sense the genre dictates most of my life, from the style of clothes to the kind of posts I see on social media. It’s always around so it was important to make it an obvious factor in my short piece.
