Today we made lumen prints in class. We gathered materials from around campus before placing them onto the black and white photo paper in plastic sleeves out in the sun.
The two prints above were my first two attempts. Unfortunately, the wind flipped over these prints while they were still developing, so the objects aren’t as clear.
There was also some slight movement on the second round of prints, however the objects are far clearer.
The colour of the paper changed much quicker than I expected as soon as it was exposed to the sun. The paper was already a pale blue colour before I had a chance to finish placing all of the objects. I really enjoyed the activity and I’d be very interested in trying lumen prints again when I had more time and equipment to plan my prints.
These are great! Maybe you could look at doing some more of these for your Initial Explorations (PB2), or scale it up for the final project somehow…
