Week 9 Update

This week we went back to the Thornbury Bowls club without our actors in order to shoot our establishing shots, as well as some other shots which we might use to . We ended up filming over two nights, the first of which was very windy, making our exterior shots look a little eerie.

I quite like the composition of this shot, including both the light and the sign are prominently featured, which I like. The wind that night also allowed us to capture the sign swinging back and forth, which looks really cool.

I really like the dark green in this shot. It feels very typical of a lot of other sporting grounds I’ve been too. However, if I was to take this shot again, I would frame it a bit more to the right so that the rubbish bin isn’t in shot.

Again, the wind really helped us with this shot, as the weather vane was continuously rotating because of the strength of the wind. The final shot is almost hypnotising, and it almost looking battery powered because of the steady pace. I think this shot will look amazing once it’s graded, and I’m excited to see how far we can push the rusty red colour.

I’m really happy with a lot of the shots we have so far. Hopefully the rest of the shoot turns out as well and it all looks good in the edit.
