When I was told that I’d have to keep a blog as part of my assessment for Media 1, I was a little worried. I’ve never kept a blog before, and I rarely share my thoughts on the social media platforms I use. While I like that these blog posts I allow me to write more informally than an essay, the blog does mean that my writing is can not only be read by my tutors, but by whoever manages to find this blog, and that my work will live on the internet permanently. However, I understand why this is an important experience to have as a media practitioner, because we must learn how to manage our online profiles if we ever hope to find work in the industry.
Since setting up my blog in my first workshop on Thursday, I have learnt a few things about how they work. I seem to have sorted out my tags and found a theme I’m happy with. Hopefully it will all become smoother as I blog more and get the hang of things.
