INSTA SNAP YZMA
The second workshop of Networked Media had us continuing to customise our blogs as to make it a bit more us. As to put into our blog what we thought best represented ourselves, including its overall theme and look but also what, and how, we write as an author to a piece of writing, namely our voice.
Appearance wise, I’ve headed down a minimalistic path, personally because I don’t like clutter and messy websites or blogs, and also because I believe it reflects my pretty much down-to-earth, don’t beat around the bush type attitude. In saying this however, I very much dislike boring and bland. To overcome this I found an outsourced widget code via Snap Widget that allows me to feature my Insta feed/profile on the sidebar of my blog. This adds some colour and image to my blog, as well as giving any readers out there a better look into my life that is outside of uni-based blogging, or just some black words on a white page. I also just really wanted to have the Insta feed widget to defy the laws of Media Factory, who don’t supply there own version of this type of widget. Winnnnnnnnah. I do utilise other such widgets (as you can obviously see on the left), that in a precise and organised manner link any readers to different post categories, recent posts and archived posts and other blog sites, just to keep the network of mine and other blogs flowing.
Onto my voice, wait?!

Yes! This is MY voice (not Yzma in cat form, from The Emperor’s New Grove, bless that movie) trying to talk to you. As I have mentioned before and I think maybe in another post, I am pretty casual in the way I write my blog posts, unless it is required for a task not to be so. I’m not trying to jump down anyone’s throat or be a sad Sally (pun intended) or run some ridiculous Navy Seal military camp; I don’t want to be hostile or too aggressive or authoritative, I just want to write as me, and present the best version of myself to everybody.
