My Lo-Fi Media Self Portrait surrounds the premise that ones own self and identity can be seen or heard by the that individuals surroundings, namely ones bedroom – the small sanctuary people have, that can ultimately reflect their personality and interests. In my self portrait, I have brought forward actions, sounds, images and words that can all be found within the boundaries of my home and bedroom.

The Audio: Features the sounds I hear everyday when arriving home, the quick journey from the front door to my bedroom featuring the slamming shut of doors and cracking of hard wood floors. Also, the ambient I hear sitting in my bedroom.

The Video: The process of selecting and playing a record, and activity I quite enjoy when in my room. And secondly, the struggle I have everyday to put on a watch. No matter how often I do it, the struggle is real.

The Photos: Views from the bed, ultimately my favourite sitting spot within my room.

The Words: My favourite line from one of my favourite books, On The Road by Jack Kerouac. Two copies of which can be found on my bookshelf.

 

Ultimately, all of these pieces of media reflect my identity within the walls of my bedroom, my lair, my sanctuary.
